The Santa Maria Elks Club is holding a firefighter’s appreciation night that will include, besides a celebration of the sacrifices of these civil servants, one kind of fire we all like: barbecue.

Thousands of people die each year from smoking-related health problems, and nobody wants to leave their family behind because they can’t break a habit. The Santa Barbara County Health Department offers Smoking Cessation Classes for people who need help. Classes are available in multiple locations in the county.
